Stuart Minkus is a recurring character in Girl Meets World. In the end, "Girl Meets Farkle's Choice" wasn't necessarily the "worst" episode we've seen, but at this point the series needs to seriously reconsider the classroom dynamic and shake up the B stories (like "Girl Meets the Forgotten" did). I think the one redeeming quality here was getting to see Cory struggle to open his juice box. While there were some half-hearted attempts to change things up - adding Ava's mom, for example - this storyline just fell flat. I could almost go without mentioning Topanga and Auggie's B story this week, as it was completely pointless. It was also fun to see Smackle again, although I would have thought Farkle's need to show up with a date would have more to do with his secret affection for Smackle. ("Yep, I'll host anything!") While her screen time here was notably short, I did enjoy her rendition of "Sweet Chariot" played over the "In Memoriam" segment of the awards show. Farkle exhibits personality traits of both his parents. 1 He is the son of Stuart Minkus and Jennifer Bassett from Boy Meets World, and a best friend of Riley Matthews, Maya Hart, Lucas Friar, and Zay Babineaux. Speaking of which, one of the brighter spots of this week's episode was guest star Jane Lynch. Farkle Minkus is a main character in Girl Meets World. ![]() ![]() (Frankie and Joey 2.0?) There was also the obvious switch of Riley and Maya actually fighting over Farkle, which was a fun change of pace in "Girl Meets Farkle's Choice." Granted, the whole thing was very predictable after that, with the girls ultimately deciding that they both go as Farkle's date to the Buggie Awards. ("Welcome to what's going on.") The speed-dates, for example, had some fun moments, like when Farkle confronted the two subway bullies. That said, the main storyline here was still interesting, with Farkle's crush on Riley and Maya coming to the fore. As of right now, it's been one of the series most fatal flaws. And if there's one thing the show needs to figure out, it's the classroom - especially if the writers keep insisting on going there. For Girl Meets World, I think the problem has been that Cory lets his students go off on too many tangents without actually teaching his lesson, which results in a bizarre classroom dynamic that would never really happen. It's weird though, because Boy Meets World used to excel in the classroom, especially in the earlier seasons. Starting his stage career at age six, Corey has performed in eight productions around the country, including in Peter Pan and Tinker Bell at The Pasadena. Born and raised in California, he is greatly immersed in the world of theatre, television, and photography. That's in addition to Riley and Maya's morning announcements, which didn't really play in the opening scene (although they sort of came around in the tag). Corey Fogelmanis is known for his role as 'Farkle' on Disney's Girl Meets World. While this week's episode definitely had some out-of-classroom stuff, the overall "Canada as an ally" motif was pretty lazy. Despite some really great episodes lately, Girl Meets World still hasn't quite figured out how to make the most of their classroom storylines.
